Morris Ray Severt – age 69 of Beaverton, MI is now joined with his family and friends in heaven. He passed away on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at McLaren Bay Hospital in Bay City, MI.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016. Funeral Services were held on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, burial followed at Flint Memorial Park.
Ray was born on Nov. 14, 1946 in Beckley, WV to Abner and Grace (Walls) Severt. He married Virginia "Ginny" Lang on May 27, 1982. Ray "Radiator" worked at G.M. Truck and Bus for 43 years and retired in June 2008. He loved auto racing, tinkering on cars, and travelling. He also enjoyed country music and watching westerns.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia; daughter, Lisa M. (Jan Ehl) Provost; sons, Morris R. (Leanne) Severt Jr., Gerald A. (Tara) Provost Jr.; step-daughters, Deanne (Jack) Ryan and Dawn Gatica; special grandsons, Joe and Luke Provost; sisters, Jessie Absher, Leafie McNeil, Betty (Joe) Ball, Kay (Dean) Brooks; twin sister, Marsha Teaster; brother, Jack (Bettie) Severt, 23 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Gatica, brothers, Lacy, George, Tom, Dale, Earl, Blaine, and Wiley; sisters, Janelle Robertson and Danis Jones.
For all of our friends who have kept him in their prayers, thank you! Also, thank you to the CNA's and Aides at Brittany Manor, and all of the doctors and nurses at McLaren Bay Hospital who took excellent care of Ray, and his special friend Larry who called Ray every day!
