I am deeply saddened knowing that Dr. Jim is no longer with us.
This is such a terrible loss; Dr. Jim was like family.
At his memorial service at St Mary's, I was overwhelmed by how many lives have been blessed in knowing this wonderful man.
I feel some comfort in that Dr. Jim loved his life‘s work of being a doctor, and even with his busy schedule, was able to make time for the things he treasured, family, boating, water skiing, and traveling,
I'm sad that he did not live long enough to enjoy retirement, but comforted in that he enjoyed the journey along the way.
Dr. Jim loved his family; he was so proud of his kids, and of their achievements.
I'm sad that he did not live long enough to see "Dr. Laurie Simonds" printed on her business cards.
Or to experience the joys of being a “Grandpa”.
I will miss Dr Jim's family updates during my office visits, and the stories of outings he shared with my dad.
Dr. Jim, and Dr. Lisa have done so much for my family over the years.
As family medical issues arose, Dr. Jim and Dr. Lisa were there for us with compassionate care, kindness, and inspiration to help my family get through the crisis.
When my parents reached the end of their lives, they were comforted, and at peace knowing they were being cared for by their loving friends, Dr. Jim, and Dr. Lisa.
Dr. Lisa, and family, Thank you so much for all that you have done for my folks, and me.
Please know that you are in my thoughts, and prayers, and that I hold Dr. Jim's memory close to my heart.

Dr. Simonds was my doctor for almost three years until now. He was a fantastic doctor and good man. He always took the time to listen to my questions or concerns. There was never a hint of arrogance in his answers. There were chuckles of course but it was all in good fun.
I didn't think small town doctors existed until I met Dr. Jim. I've also never met a man that deserves the praise he gets after he passes away, but Dr. Jim does deserve it.

Jim was a solid friend to our family. .. Always caring, positive, and encouraging to us all. He would share our laughter, our hopes, our losses, our accomplishments, and our tears. We shall surely miss his kindness and gentle smile. He was a wonderful human being, friend, doctor, community member, and father to name just a few hats he wore so well and he was So Very Proud of his family! We have been blessed by the time we had with him and now we all in the community should carry on his legacy of caring for one another compassionately, lending a hand, listening well, staying on the bright side, and being diligent and comprehensive. Dr. Jim was our doctor for 20 years. He treated us as if we were his only patients and took the time to talk to us whenever we had questions. We can recall many times he called us in the evening at our house to check in our one of our sick girls. We can't tell you how much that meant to us. We know he treated EVERY patient that way and we were grateful to have known this most compassionate, kind, knowledgable and amazing man. Prayers to you Dr. Lisa and your entire family. I have fond memories of the Simonds family. Dr. Lisa was my doctor. Christopher was a student in my fourth grade classroom. Both Dr. Lisa and Dr. Jim were active parents in the room. Like so many we are shocked beyond words to hear of Dr. Jim's passing. Because both he & Dr. Lisa are so down to earth & know us (their patients) so well, at times if we were sick we could just call & they responded with RX samples or prescriptions without forcing us to make an appointment. Dr. Jim was a truly talented physician and remarkable man. I have never met anyone as consistently and honestly compassionate. Dr. Jim was my family's doctor for nearly 20 years and saw us all through difficult times with care and understanding. The impact he made on all of our lives cannot be overstated and the void left by his passing will never be filled. I am so very sorry to his family, coworkers, and patients for this loss. Dr. Jim will be sorely missed, but his legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication will never be forgotten.

Dr.Jim was my doctor since I was little and then I gave birth to my son and he also been his doctor. Dr.Jim and Dr. Lisa are both great Dr.s. As I'm sure you are well aware, Dr. Jim was loved by all who were fortunate enough, during his short life, to have met him or had the honor of having Dr. Jim as their doctor. I was one of the FORTUNATE ones. Dr. Jim was the most caring and compassionate doctors I have ever met and he helped my life greatly. He was not just my doctor, but my friend as well. I got to know the entire family through talking with Dr. Jim.....and he was PROUD of all three of his children and never bashful to say so. He also got to know my family through our conversations, and always asked about my kids and grandkids. NO ONE WILL EVER REPLACE DR. JIM!! He was the best! What a loss to the Racine County medical community.

I got to know the Simonds when Laurie was in my Kindergarten class. Jim and Lisa were always lending a helping hand. They kept the room supplied with new and fun items. Chris later became our visiting Santa. I enjoyed water ski shows the kids were in on Brown's Lake. What an awesome family! My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. He was like a second father to me throughout high school, always making sure I had a ride to work and that I woke up for work, making sure that Laurie and I had everything prepared for our high school dances and attending all of our special events such as plays and graduation. My daughter and I were so shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. My daughter and I are, technically, patients of Dr. Lisa, but we trusted Dr. Jim as much as we did Dr. Lisa and he never let us down. He was warm, compassionate and displayed wonderful professionalism at all times. It was a privilege to know him. Our prayers of comfort and peace are extended to his family and friends. Dr. Jim was my first doctor in WI after I returned from living in San Antonio for a few years in 1994. He made me feel more than just a patient but a person. He was very friendly, understanding, and professional. I now have Dr. Lisa as my doctor and I can't say enough good things about her either! my parents ken and rose holeton and dr jim took care of them he came to the house to see my mom 2 days before she passed and came to the house to see my dad as well and he came to their funerals how many would take the time to do this he was so caring and my dad was on s lot of medication and was getting tough to keep up with all of it when he found out my dad had no insurance he felt so bad and he would call and he gave us samples so we did not have to buy anymore he will trully be missed he was one wonderful person

Dr. Jim was always there for our family, we felt comfortable with him and confident that he would take care of our entire family. We will miss him so much, our thoughts and prayers are with his family and co-workers.
