Ellen,
Thank you so very much for serving your Country, and your community. You contributed so much to make this world a better place. Everyone who knew you, knew this. Sadly, for all of the days you greeted me with a smile, I never told you in person how appreciated you are. I will always remember your wonderful smile! Thank you.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Words cannot express how shocked I was when a co-worker told me about Ellen. I had the pleasure of getting to know her at the Reuss Building and the Gas Light Building. Her smile was contagious. She loved sharing from her garden (as we loved receiving). I remember vividly the last time I saw her. As I walked into the Waukesha Social Security Office a voice from behind me asked where I was going to so fast. I turned around and saw her big smile. I walked up to her and gave her a big hug. A short, but wonderful conversation followed. I recall a stranger saying something to me that day about knowing her and I smiled and said yes, we used to see each other almost daily. Sharing her friendship batter made us friends, not just acquaintances. My deepest sympathy to Ellen's family.

I served with Ellen in Desert Storm, she was in another platoon. She was a very funny lady and had a gentle smile. Many nights all of us females in our company would talk into the early hours. She was very kind to all who knew her and quick to help anyone who requested it. Heaven is richer to have her and we all have lost a good friend, co-worker, and soldier. I miss you Ellen and my deepest sympathies to her family.

Alstad Family,
You have our deepest sympathy for the loss of Ellen. She was a joy to see everyday when she was assigned to the Federal Courthouse in Milwaukee. As a father who tragically lost his 24 year old son just 18 months ago my heart goes out to you.
Sincerely,
Bill Kruziki

To the family and friends of Ellen,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I worked with Ellen at the Federal
Courthouse and she posed for a Health Fair brochure. We shared
travel ideas when she went to Lithuania. She will be missed by
all who knew her.

Ellen, I was so blessed to know you. Your caring smile and warm heart are what I will surely miss. It is so difficult to go into work and know that when I look at "your desk" (as it always will be in my mind since no one can replace you), you will never be there again. I hope you are at peace my friend. And I want to say thank you for the white rasberries you shared with me from your yard. I never knew white rasberries existed until I met you. Now everytime I see a white rasberry, I will think of you. Take Care My Friend,

I
got to know Ellen when she worked at the Federal Court House. She
always greeted you with a smile and was a truly wonderful person. It's
hard to believe she is no longer with us. I have no doubt she is at
peace and our Lord is now watching over her. My thoughts & prayers
are with her family.

Ellen was a well-liked member of the "federal family" at the U.S. Courthouse for many years. She was generous (always sharing produce from her garden) and out-going (everyone was welcome at her annual barbeque). I vividly remember her smiling face and positive attitude. I am truly saddened by her death. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

My deepest sympathies to the Alstad family. I knew and served with Ellen in the 32d Military Police Company, and was deployed to the Middle East during Desert Storm. Ellen was a wonderful caring person with a contagious smile, and was a great friend to many. I truly admired both her courage and dedication during Desert Storm, as there were not many females sent to war - she was a great soldier and MP. May God Bless you and yours at this most difficult time.

Ellen,
You are a wonderful peson and a great friend. I will always remember coming to your house for your parties and for sharing your passion for gardening. It's difficult to accept that you are gone and that I will never see or talk with you again. I pray that God will watch over you and that you have found peace.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. The Dear Lord must have needed another angel for his choir to have taken her so young.
