Alberta Kickbush Obituary

Kickbush, Alberta Wright "Bert" 94, lifelong resident of Wisconsin. Born to Eternal Life June 20, 2012. Bert was born Alberta Ellen Wright on June 6, 1918 in New Lisbon, WI to Albert and Kathrine (Frey) Wright. She married the late Russel L. Kickbush on March 10, 1944. After raising 3 children she worked for the film distribution company Roas Films, and later as an executive secretary at Deaconess Hospital of Milwaukee. While in her 50's, she updated her college degree at UWM and was employed by the Glendale/River Hills School District as an art teacher. As an artist Alberta used a variety of methods to express herself- painting, weaving, sculpture, stained glass, poetry, and music. Throughout life Alberta enjoyed traveling, volunteering and supporting her faith community at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ. After her husband passed she became a member of P.E.O. International, a women's organization. She is survived by her children: Russell (Margaret) Kickbush of Milwaukee, WI; Kathrine (James) Bowman of Falling Waters, WV; Douglas Kickbush of Ericeira, Portugal; three grandchildren: Tabatha Feerick, Matthew Kickbush and Michael (DaniJean) Kickbush, one great- grandchild, two step great - grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren, and a loving extended family. An open house to celebrate Alberta's life will be held June 24, 2012, at the residence of her granddaughter. Please call 414-581-0226 for more information. I walked into my woods today to be alone with me I do that often when I feel a need to really see, within myself and know the peace that God and nature give. Without that gift, for me it would, be difficult to live. Alberta Wright Kickbush

I had Mrs. Kickbush as a fifth-grade teacher. She believed in nurturing creativity and responsibility in her students. She was a wonderful educator. Those lessons from her then helped shape my own teaching career years later. I'm sorry I never thought to tell her. Please except my condolences.

Doug, I'm sorry for the loss of your mom - an incredibly strong woman who had the good fortune to have a loving family to be proud of. Her obituary speaks volumes of the woman whose influence on those close to her can be felt all the way from London.

I will always remember your kind and loving personality, Aunt Bert. I also admired your cheerfulness. You always lit up the room with your smile at family events! I will miss you always.
