Dorothy Grefe Obituary

Grefe, Dorothy Helen Treasured mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice on Monday, June 6, 2011, following a courageous battle with cancer. Dorothy was born to life on February 4, 1925 and rejoins her husband, Donald Grefe; daughter, Cynthia Bieck; and her parents, Edward and Helen Franzkowiak in Heaven. She is survived by her son, Christopher Grefe (Layni Gayhart); 2 grandchildren, Sarah (Krischan) Krayer and Adam (Tracy) Bieck; and her new great- grandson, Jackson Krayer. Dorothy was a devoted caregiver to her family, her friends, and to her many patients as a nurse for 51 years. If you were to ask family and friends to describe her, you will most likely hear "she was the strongest woman I knew" or "what an amazing lady." To say she will be greatly missed is an understatement. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service to honor Dorothy later this summer. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial funds to: Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center Post Office Box 341217 Milwaukee, WI 53234-1217
