Pastor Lamar Davis was a fatherly friend of mine. When I moved to Milwaukee in 1989, I met him shortly thereafter in ministerial venues. He was a very happy and truthful man of God. He invited me to speak at his church and became a fatherly type mentor in things pertaining to the kingdom of God. I got to know his wife and son and found them to be family in their embrace of me as a newcomer to the Milwaukee area. Pastor Lamar stood boldly for the truth of the gospel and was a no nonsense type of apostolic pastor who we greatly miss. He was a true team player in the gospel if you stood for righteousness and truth. He lived the godly and holy lifestyle without compromise. I greatly miss him.

Our prayers are with the family of Pastor Lamar, we are truly saddened by your loss. Our father has spoken "Well done though good and faithful servant". We can hear Pastor Lamar saying I have finished my course,I have kept the faith. He had such a joyous spirit. Pastor Lamar always left you with something to think about in serving the Lord, reminding us that there is a lot of work to be done. May God comfort you all in this difficult time.

In "any time of need" Pastor Lamar and his beautiful wife and son along with his wife, are "Strong Towers"! My "sorrow" is not that he is gone, for He Is In The BEST PLACE EVER; no it is that I had only a short time to enjoy his messages of Truth, Love, Hope and Understanding, a Righteous Man of God! THANK YOU LORD for allowing me a chance to hear from this most loving Saint of the most High! Blessings Always to his Family, as I know God Will Give the Victory In All that you do! His parents and I worshiped together in the same church years ago, which at that time was West Side Church of God in Christ, Pastored by the late Elder Felix Lewis.

I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. I'm fortunate to have known Pastor Lamar and call him a friend. We survived several fridged Milwaukee Brewers Opening Days together at County Stadium along with Pastor Leroy.
He could have started a church anywhere, but he chose to start The Word is God Worship Center in one of the toughest areas in Milwaukee because he felt that was where God wanted him to serve. He was passionate about serving those in need and he did make a difference.
I will never forget my friend or the impact he had on my life. Pastor Ansen, I'm so glad to see that you are carrying on your Dad's legacy. My prayers are with you and your entire family during this time.

I know that he touched many lives by not only preaching God's truth, but by being an example of our Lord and Savior. When I was going through some hard times in my life, Pastor Lamar offer counseling to me and I am on the right path because of it. He offered his guidance and support to me. All I can say is Pastor Lamar was an awesome individual I had the privlege to meet and a true man of God, always lending a hand to help someone. Pastor Lamar changed the life of anyone who came in contact with him. If you did not know God you would, if you did know God you were challenged to know Him more. My heart is saddened by the death of our dear brother and fellowsoldier in the Gospel. Pastor Lamar was a blessing to me as a young preacher when I first came to Milwaukee in 1989. He was a man of truth who loved God and the work of ministry. He loved his wife and family and enjoyed being a team worker with others who were valiant for the truth of the gospel.
