I just read a facebook entry and learned that Laszlo had passed. I am still in shock. Bob and I have such great memories of Laszlo and you, Jan. We couldn't have asked for better friends when we were both just beginning our married lives. Bob still shares stories about our friendship and good times with Laszlo and you. We know he is in a better place, and that he will always have a place in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Jan.

My deepest condolences to the Stumpfhauser family and friends. Laszlo was one of the most loving, caring, and welcoming human beings I have ever met. I enjoyed hearing his life stories and will never forget riding bikes around Benton with him. He lived an amazing life and touched the hearts of many.

Jan, Eva and Kirk,

I'm deeply saddened to hear the news of Laszlo passing - My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Heaven has received the most giving, and caring man I have ever known. Laszlo, was my Mentor and GREAT friend. Your entire family was my Wichita family for 4 years when I came down from Wisconsin to do an internship and then work under Laszlo at Health Strategies - those 4 years were full of AWESOME memories!! I would not be where I am today without him guiding me into Nursing - I am so grateful I met him back in 1987. I will NEVER forget the times we had together at your house, canoe trips, and when he came to visit me in Minnesota a few years ago. I am so glad we were able to have lunch together just a few months ago, but DEEPLY saddened I won't get to see my Mentor and GREAT friend again until we reunite in Heaven. You, Eva, Kirk and the Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren are in my thoughts and prayers.

All My Best,
Ken Hanne (aka "Woody")

Jan, Eva, and Kirk, I remember your family as one of the most beautiful and loving families I have ever met. Lazlo and I were easy and casual friends back when we met. And I remember him very fondly as an encouraging physiology mentor, as a respected role model, and also as a patient father figure. Mary Kay and I felt adopted by all of our Newman Center Marriage Encounter couples, and my best memories of Lazlo are at the house. His favorite palce was among his beloved family. And we knew why and loved the example you all set. He taught me so much - he loved to teach and learn, and he did not claim to know it all. But if I had a question, he seemed to have a learned answer. A true scholar yet he was more focused on sharing knowledge than being measured as knowledgeable. And he made sure he did not claim to know more than he owned. I just quoted him on a physiology topic very recently. And I remembered how much I enjoyed his patient tone with this thick headed student of the cell and the body, and mind. His warming and complimentary spirit has surely arrived in heaven and I am sure they have had to turn down the thermostat already with his warm gaze among them.
Thank you Jan, and Eva and Kirk, for sharing Lazlo Stumpfhauser with us, and Thank you Lord in Heaven, for loaning him to us, if only for a while. He will be missed and his memory cherished.

To Jan, Eva, Kirk and the rest of the extended Stumpfhauser family "Isten áldja meg a család." Laszlo was one of my favorite people. You remember few people well as you progress through life. He was one of the few. I always regretted that I wasn't a better goalie for him. His coaching did finally stick, it just took me about 20 years to recognize it. I am glad I got the chance to thank him, to let him know his impact.

We are very sorry to hear about Laszlo's passing. Even though we didn't get the opportunity to know him well, we really enjoyed meeting all of you and could see the extreme love and devotion he had for his family as well as you towards him. What a remarkable, loving family! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

Laszlo will be missed by many. I enjoyed the time that I was able to spend with him. I will never forget his smile. Rest in peace my sweet friend.

My family learned so much about family, friendship and living life from the love and passion “Papa Laszlo” showed his family and friends. I pray that he knows how much he meant to my family. We are truly better people because of the love he showed us. We only saw Laszlo once or twice a year and for a man to touch us the way he did proves the argument of “Quality versus Quantity”.

“Tiny Bubbles” Laszlo we will miss you.

My thoughts & prayers are with Jan & family at the loss of 'Papa Laszlo'. I met him in August, 1987 when I was a temp at Health Strategies (in the old building). I have many fond memories of Laszlo; his humor, his amazing intelligence, his zest for life, and thirst for improving lives ... physically, spiritually, & emotionally. He was a wonderful mentor and visionary. My only regret is that I did not stay in touch with him after I left Health Strategies in September, 1998 to return to Texas, my home. He and Jan would have loved to visit to our Bed & Breakfast in Granbury, Texas. Many blessings to his family.

Dr Stumpfhauser was my physiology professor in PA school in 1975. He was a very caring person . I ran into him a number of times thru the years, he always remembered my name and was interested in how my life progressed. Sorry I will not see him again.
