I just learned of Virgil's passing and was saddened to hear this news. I worked with him at TLH from 1997-2001. He was a gentle soul with an endless smile.

I was with Virgil when he bought his first fishing rod and taught him some things on the banks of the Upper Iowa R. Some of my fondest memories of Luther were Virgil's humor and partnering with him to play cards. There weren't many made like him. One of the truly funniest people ever.

Linda and Family,
I'm was so saddened to hear of Virgil's passing - just yesterday. He was just as friendly and helpful as everyone has said here in the guest book. I worked with him at TLH in the early 90's, and he always had a smile and a funny story to tell. I saw him in recent years at Menorah, and it was so good to run into him again. God bless you, Virgil. You were a kind soul.

Linda and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Many fantastic memories working with Virgil at Trinity. But, maybe even more heartwarming to reflect on, and smile about, were the wonderful times we enjoyed away from TLH... the fishing outings, Royals games, Table Tennis battles (thanks for your tolerance Linda!) and great conversations. Virgil truly was a caring and kind-hearted gentleman. My sincere condolences.

I am an RN and worked with Virgil at Trinity. Whenever we needed RT in ICU, when Virgil showed up, we felt calm again. He was just the consummate professional. Plus, we talked Royals baseball all the time in the mid 1980's. Was fun. Goodbye friend. Goodbye...

Our condolences to Virgil's family and the many friends who will miss him. As Chaplain at Trinity Lutheran in the 1980's and 90's, no name was "paged" quite so often as Virgils and he seemed to be helping every where at once. Me and my wife Kim Banner, who worked in Trinity's Human Resources Department, grieve with all those who knew and loved Virgil. May he rest now in God's peaceful presence.
