Bruce A. Ticker Schaal, 63, of Powers Lake, Wis., died suddenly Monday morning, April 21, 2014, at the Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wis.

Bruce Allen Schaal was born on March 7, 1951, in Burlington, Wis., the son of the late Clifford and Evelyn May Zarnstorff Schaal. On Aug. 5, 1972, at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Slades Corners, Wis.,, Bruce was united in marriage to Jacqueline Hobbie. He has been a resident of Powers Lake his entire life.

Bruce graduated from Salem Central High School, Class of 1969. He graduated from UW-Parkside in 1972 with a Bachelors degree in Economics and a Bachelors degree in Labor Economics. He spent 35 years in the Banking Business in Twin Lakes, most recently with Associated Bank as Branch Manager.

Bruce was a lifetime member of St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church in Slades Corners where he served on the church council, the stewardship committee and was an usher. In the late 1970s, he joined the Twin Lakes Vol. Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad and became an EMT and an EMTI. He was awarded a lifetime membership to the dept. In 1984, Bruce was one of the organizers of the Town of Randall Fire Dept. where he has served as Battalion Chief of the Powers Lake Station, Fire Chief of the Dept. and was serving as treasurer at the time of his death. He was also a member and former divemaster of the Randall Dive Team. He was also a member of the Kenosha County Dive Team. He was also one of Santas helpers at Christmas time for Randall. In 1980, he was appointed to serve Kenosha County as a Dep. Coroner, a position he held for many years. He enjoyed camping at Oakridge Camp Ground and served as secretary/treasurer of the campground. He was a past president of the Twin Lakes Chamber and Business Assoc. in the 1980s.

Bruce enjoyed scuba diving, traveling and his greatest love after he retired was being able to watch his grandchildren.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; two daughters, Dr. Summer (Stanley) Bochat of Silver Lake, Wis., and Sarah (John) Kaldem of Powers Lake, Wis.; one son, Samuel Schaal of Powers Lake, Wis.; his pride and joy grandchildren, Winston, Saechelle, Killian and an unnamed grandchild due in August; one brother, Doug (Gail) Schaal of Powers Lake, Wis. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.

The Schaal Family would like to thank the Randall First Responders, Twin Lakes Rescue Squad, Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington, Flight For Life and Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center, Dr. Moran and Dr. Karls for everything they did for Bruce.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church 39506 60th St. Slades Corners, WI. Inurnment will be in St. Johns Cemetery. The Schaal Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home and Crematory in Twin Lakes and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the Church on Saturday. Memorial remembrances may be made to St. Johns Ev.
