Richard Shaff Obituary

Richard Arlen Shaff, 73, of Ellensburg, passed away on September 14, 2010 at Virginia Mason. Dick was born July 29, 1937 to Orville and Martha (Gangle) Shaff.

Dick was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He lived his life doing the things he loved surrounded by the people he loved. He cherished his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, shooting, watching old westerns, football, having coffee with friends every morning, a good campfire, being in the mountains and sharing his life experiences with anyone he met along the way. He spent many of his years driving cattle truck which he loved and his later years retired doing the things he loved. He always had a smile on his face, and always looked on the bright side of things. He brought joy to everyone around him. He always had a funny story or joke to tell to put a smile on your face. He was a man of pride, compassion, and love and will be terribly missed by everyone that knew him.

Preceding Dick in his death were his parents, brother, Robert Shaff and sister Janice Shaff.

Surviving him are his wife, Melody Shaff, sons, Richard (Kim) Shaff of Richland, WA, Ron (Nancy) Shaff, Robert (April) Shaff and Randy Shaff all of Ellensburg; daughter Tiffany (Shane) Potts of Ellensburg; sister Eileen Viente; five grandchildren, Hadley Potts, Zack and Katelyn Shaff, Bobby and Joshua Shaff.

Funeral services will be at St. Andrews Church at 11am on Saturday, September 18th, with reception to follow.
