Genevieve King Obituary

Genevieve Parrott King, 82, of Cox's Creek, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at Jefferson Manor in Louisville. She was born April 14, 1931, in Botland. She was a retired sales clerk for Jim Beam Brands Outpost and Marshall's Jewelers. She was an accomplished seamstress, doing custom sewing, making quilts and other crafts, and was a member of Nelson County Homemakers Club, and New Salem Baptist Church for 57 years, where she played piano, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and active with W.M.U.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mollie Parrott; three sisters, Elizabeth P. Summers, Martha Deacon, and Anna L. Raymond; and a brother, Randolph Parrott.
Survivors include a daughter, Melinda King, of Lexington; a sister, Kathleen Parrott, of Louisville; two nephews; and a niece.
The funeral was 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at New Salem Baptist Church, with burial in New Salem Baptist Cemetery. Pastor Jonathan Gann will officiate.
Memorial contributions may go to her church.
Barlow Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
