Alma Hanson Obituary

Hanson, Alma Sandy
October 21, 1921 - May 2, 2011
(89)
Lakeside has lost a great golfer. The birds and squirrels on Cromwell Avenue have lost a great provider. The dog-owning neighbors on the same street have lost a great story teller. The postperson has lost that all too brief daily chat as an escape from their repetitive chores and so it is with the pool person, the gardener and the cleaning lady turned African Violet specialist. The salmon in the cold Northwest and the trout in windy Owens River Valley, CA area known as Hot Creek as well as those in Black Lake, CO can rest easy, their pursuer shall pursue no more. The world has lost an artist (oil painter, potter, pianist) and an at length discusser of all things political, scientific, social, moral and religious. The family has lost a great friend to all and a greater sharer of all she had.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Web Hanson in 2003. She is survived by a thriving family of her son Roger Tout and his wife Diane of Victor, Montana, her step-son Harry Hanson and his wife Colleen of Venice, Florida and her step-daughter Jackie Woolley and her husband Pete of The Dalles, Oregon. The surviving family further includes 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Sandy was one of a kind. It will come as no surprise, to those close to her, that there will be no observance of her passing. As per her wishes, organ donations were made to the Alzheimer's Research Center at USC, cremation was carried out by Abbott and Hast Mortuary and her ashes were to be cast over the Pacific Ocean to join with those of her husband, Web.
In lieu of flowers or other memorials, the family urges contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
