Dr, Cope was the best teacher, best diagnostician and most kind Professor I encountered during my medical school and residency training at UCLA. He is held in reverence by many former trainees.

So very sorry to hear of Dr. Cope's passing. Although I did not work directly with Dr. Cope supporting him as his chapter executive director, I had many interactions with him and have always enjoyed talking with him. He was a pleasure to know and I will greatly miss seeing him at the various ACP meetings. My condolences to his family and colleagues.

So sorry to hear of the passing of one the true greats. Dr. Cope was at once old school and new school. He taught multiple generations the importance of knowing people and details in making a diagnosis and just being a better doctor. He was the major inspiration for me to attend UCLA for my residency and stay at UCLA for my career. On way of his lasting messages to me was that when you are in with a patient - that patient is the most important thing in the world. Impossible to put his loss into words, but hundreds of not thousands of doctors he helped train are better because of him, and so are their patients. To his family thank you for sharing him with us and may your grief be tempered by his wonderful memory.
