I signed in this book August 25th, 2009. That is several days short of eleven years ago. My words written then hold true with even more meaning today than they did then: "Morrie was one of the kindest, giving, and warm people I have met in my life." Meeting him was a gift and a marker for me, knowing that there are people like him in the world, and I would try to find them, and when I did I would try to incorporate such people into my life.
There are very few.
Morrie, you are alive in the hearts of anyone who ever knew you.

Dr. Barry Alter

August 25, 2009

I met Morrie in 1963 while I was an orthodontic student at Marquette University in Milwaukee visiting the valley to research a place to open a practice. I visited Mo at his office in Reseda and left with a new friend.

Morrie was one of the kindest, giving, and warm people I have met in my life. He was gifted with talent as a professional and with a warm open manner that is rare in this world. As I discussed Morrie and his manner with a friend earlier today, we both agreed that "They don't make e'm like that very often, and perhaps not at all any more".

I will miss this kind person for as long as I am here.

I first met Dr. Leventhal in the summer of 1963. Horrible underbite, now a great smile. He was the coolest dentist a kid could meet-drove a Corvette! Very professional, a true artist. I thanked him years later when I discovered his Northridge office. Glad to know he had a long, rewarding life. How many other beautiful, confident smiles is he responsible for? Countless lives changed for the better.
