Columbus, GA- Hannah Elizabeth Gilmer, 16, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church with Reverend Paul Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Hannah was born October 16, 1995 in Columbus, GA daughter of Mike and Lisa Smith Gilmer of Columbus, GA. She had finished her sophomore year at Northside High School where she was very involved in Chorus. She was a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church.
Survivors other than her parents include her sister, Sarah Allen and husband Jonathan of Box Springs, GA; brother, Kyle Gilmer of Columbus, GA; maternal grandparents, Beth Pridgen (Bobby) of Columbus, GA, Kenneth W. Smith (Sandra) of Fortson, GA; paternal grandparents, June and Chan Battiato of Columbus, GA and several other family members.

Dear Gilmer Family,
I am truly sorry for your lost. My brother Tyler Boyd was one of Hannah friends he is having a difficult time.. He just tells me a million stories about how wonderful your daughter was and how God recieved the most amazing and beatiful angel the day he took Hannah. I completely agree with him.. Please know theirs not a night that goes by that Tyler and I don't think of you and Hannah. We are praying for you and your family.

I was saddened to hear the news of the accident from a friend...and then to realize it was your sweet Hannah was just heart breaking. I will always remember sweet, little blonde-haired Hannah from when we carpooled with your family when our kids were at Calvary. I can't imagine the pain you all are feeling right now. I know, from experience, that nothing anyone can say right now can ease that pain, but may you somehow be comforted knowing that you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many, including ours. I do not know you nor did I know your daughter but my heart is broken for the pain and void that I know you feel in your heart. I lost my son Joshua 4 years ago to a brain tumor at the tender age of 15. So I know the heartache and grief you hold. No words are comforting enough during this time. Please know that there is someone out here that knows what you are going through and you are not alone. I pray the loving arms of the Father holds you close during this time of not understanding why life holds the things it does.

Lisa and Mike, I was an old classmate of yours, and my heart has ached for you two the rest of your family since I heard Saturday. Hannahs passing has impacted many lives in Columbus, family,friends,acquaintances and people she had never met.
