Sandra FARRANT Obituary

Published by Nanaimo Daily News and Harbour City Star on Jul. 27, 2012.

April, 1941 – July, 2012

Sandra passed peacefully on July 23 after a lengthy battle with cancer at the Nanaimo General Hospital. During her struggles over the last two years she remained strong and upbeat, and as always, was an inspiration to all that knew her.
Sandra was born April 2, 1941 to Herbert and Delphine Tritter of Calgary. There she married Ronald (Ted) Farrant, and raised three children. Eventually the two went their separate ways, but shortly before her passing the "one true loves" reunited and she was allowed to go in peace, and happier than she had been for some time.
After moving to Nanaimo she became involved with the Loyal Order of Moose and spent many hours volunteering and enjoying the company of others, her life was dedicated to her friends and family. Sandra leaves behind three children, Bill (Norma); Jim (Lynne) and Sue; her two grandsons, Casey and Craig, Granddaughter Erica, Great Granddaughter Delilah and her brother Duane (Pat).
We wish to thank all of those who have helped Sandra over the years, the members of the Nanaimo Moose Lodge, the staff at Wheels for Wellness, and the staff and volunteers in the Cancer Centre and Palliative Care Unit at the Nanaimo General Hospital.
At Sandra's request, no memorial will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Wheels for Wellness or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Sandra's greatest accomplishment in life was being a wonderful, loving mother and Grandmother. No matter what hardships life brought our way, we always knew her love, support and guidance were there. As we write this, all around is black and gloomy, but the clouds have broken and a small ray of sunshine has broken through. Perhaps a mother's love is eternal.
We know you're in a better place, free of pain and back with those you've loved and lost.
But we miss you Mom (Grandma)
