BERNICE McCLURE
FREMONT — Bernice C. McClure, 97, died Nov. 4, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 6, 1916, in Van Wert County to Fred and Anna Huysman Rice, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 9, 1934, she married Everett B. McClure.
Mrs. McClure was a farmer and co-owner of McClure Surplus Store. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of Do-Passo. She was a 1933 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School, Delphos. She enjoyed cooking, especially cookies and angel food cake. She also enjoyed sewing and loved to square dance.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Diana) McClure, of Brevard, N.C.; a daughter, Nancy (Nick Nichols) McClure, of Fremont; and six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lee, Harvey, Glen and Loren Rice; and three sisters, Jennie Schram, Doris Jones and Emma Miller.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. The Rev. David Howell will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
