Timothy Murphy Obituary

Dr. Timothy Murphy D.D.S.

Southbury, CT - On December 10th, 2017, Timothy J. Murphy, D.D.S., husband, partner-in-life and best friend of Patricia Gray, devoted and loving father of Charles G. Murphy, M.D., son of Timothy and Lillian Murphy and brother of Dennis Murphy and the deceased John Murphy.

Tim was a man of keen intellect and a few words, always well chosen and always positive. His sense of humor and his wit were unfailing, as was his commitment to the causes he pursued. He was graduated from Manhattan College and then New York University School of Dentistry, after winning a New York State Regents Dental Scholarship. He went on to become certified in Prosthodontics. He served our country as a Captain in the U. S. Army Dental Corps and was awarded a grant from the U.S. Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare for Prosthodontics.

He will be sorely missed by his family, his colleagues and patients and all those privileged to call him friend. He died like he lived, a friend to all.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 13th, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Resurrection, Rye, NY. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY. The family will greet loved ones from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm on Tuesday, December 12th at Graham Funeral Home, Rye, NY.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
