Samuel Bonnell Obituary
Samuel J. Bonnell, 92, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2013 in Carlsbad, CA. He was born on September 19, 1920 in Mt Vernon, NY. He worked for General Electric as an appliance repairman and as an instructor for over three decades. He was a World War II veteran. Sam married Connie (Gelardi) in 1941 in Mt Vernon, NY. They were happily married for 62 years. While living in Mt. Vernon, Sam was an active member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Victory Church, and at one time served as president. They moved to Harrison, NY in 1973, and then relocated to Gulfport, FL in 1999. Sadly, Connie preceded him in death in 2003. His hobbies included listening to music, cooking and gardening. His won First Place for his roses from the Rose Society of Westchester.
Sam is survived by his daughter Mary Ann (Mathew) Crisci of Carlsbad, CA, Charles (Christine) Bonnell of Naples, FL, and Richard Bonnell of Gulfport, FL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church, 15 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY at 9:30AM on Saturday, October 5. Burial will follow immediately after at Beechwoods Cemetery, 179 Beechwood Ave., New Rochelle, NY. The family will be greeting friends and relatives after the interment.
