Thomas Twitchell Obituary

Twitchell, Thomas

Thomas Twitchell called to Heaven on March 24, 2015. Tom was born in Yonkers, New York on April 21, 1955, the son of Agnes and Henry (Knute) Twitchell. Tom grew up in Yonkers. He attended St. Bartholomew's Elementary School, where he was an altar boy and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1973. He played football as a kid. He loved going camping and fishing with his dad as a boy and then later would go often with friends. He was always known as a class clown in school. He has many friends in NY who will miss him. He moved to Aspen in 1992 because he loved the outdoors and the beauty of the Roaring Fork Valley. In 1995, he married Megan Hauter. He worked at Pitkin County Title and enjoyed his job and the many people he met through his work. He loved watching his children play their various sports. He is survived by Megan Twitchell and their three children Henry, Amelia and Sam; his mother Agnes; sisters Jean Archibald and her husband Tom Archibald; Mary O'Connor and her husband Michael O'Connor; nieces Lynne MeGee and Kate O'Connor; nephews Eric Archibald and Kevin O'Connor and their families. His in-laws Carol and David Hauter; Kathryn and John Koch. He is predeceased in death by his father Knute. Tom understood the unique qualities in his friends and family. Through his sense of humor he made them feel loved and cherished. We will all miss that humor, his smiling face and his generous spirit.

Tom and I were closest of friends from 7th grade through high school. When he moved out to Colorado we didn't speak to each other as often and I missed him. I traveled to Aspen to attend his wedding and we kept in touch over the years. We always ended our telephone calls with "Love you bro". My sincere condolences to his mother, sister's and all his family and friends especially Megan and the kids. Tom, love you bro. You will be missed.

I grew up with Tom and have nothing but great memories of him. We had many wild times as kids. I'm sorry that we lost touch of each other after he moved out west.
I send my condolences to his Wife and children, and also to his Mom whom I remember fondly.
