William Bednarczyk Obituary
WILLIAM JOHN BEDNARCZYK SR., a longtime Yonkers NY resident, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015, at the NY State Veteran's Home in Montrose NY, at age 98.
"Bill" was raised and educated in Yonkers and graduated from Saunders Trade & Technical High Sbchool in 1935. He proudly served in the Atlantic & Pacific Theatre as a Naval Engineering Officer during WWII.
Bill married Julia Verona on 11/17/1945. She predeceased him in 4/1993, after 47 years of marriage. He then married Jeanne Moccio in 6/1994 and she predeceased him in 2009, after 15 years of marriage. He was employed by Con Edison as a Gas Utility Supervisor and retired after 35 years with the company.
Bill is survived by his son William John Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kathleen, nephew, Bruce, four nieces, Betty Ann Bozentko, Christine Gorey, Kathleen Murphy, & Marie Wax, sisters-in-law, Lena & Olga Bednarczyk, & step-daughter, Carol Krass. Bill was also predeceased by his parents, Stephan and Anna (nee Vasinova), son, Stephan George in 1977, 2 brothers & 2 sisters.
Visitation at DUCHYNSKI-CHERKO Funeral Home on Monday, July, 20, 2015, from 5PM to 9PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July, 2015, in St. Casimir's Church at 10AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

I WORKED WITH BILL FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AT THE CON ED ENERGY GAS CONTROL CENTER. I KNEW HIM TO BE A GREAT PERSON. MY PRAYERS ARE WITH HIM AND THE FAMILY. GOD BLESS HIM IN HEAVEN.
