Richard Galassi Obituary
Richard Galassi, 64, life-time resident of Tarrytown, NY passed away peacefully on January 1, 2017 at Skyview Nursing Home after a long illness. Richard was born in Tarrytown on August 30, 1952 to the late Mario and Nancy (Casarella) Galassi. Richard graduated from Sleepy Hollow High School in 1970. Richard served in the U.S. Army from 1975 to 1978 as a military intelligence analyst. He was a life time member of Phoenix Hose Fire Department in Tarrytown, and he worked as a plumber apprentice for Galassi & Dominguez Plumbing till his retirement. He was also a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed his hobby to the fullest. Richard is survived by his beloved sisters Patricia Galassi of Brewster, NY and Debra Lopano (George) of Croton-on-Hudson, NY. He is also survived by his nieces Melissa Grosso (Anthony) of Lake Peekskill, NY and Lauren Lopano of Croton-on Hudson and one nephew, George Lopano of Croton-on-Hudson. He is also survived by one great niece Oliva Rose Grosso and sister- in-law Linda Galassi. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Galassi. Reposing, Dwyer & Vanderbilt Funeral Home, on Wednesday from 4-8 PM. Where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM. Interment, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. to follow.

Rich was a great guy - very quiet but with a great sense of humor. We were in art class together for 2 years at SHHS. He had real talent - I didn't.
I just read what he wrote in my yearbook last night after my Mom told me he passed away. It brought back many great memories.
