Diana Shahayda Obituary

SHAHAYDA, DIANA, MSSW, 66, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009. She was a graduate of Valley High School (1961). She graduated from Murray State University and received her master's degree from U of L. She spent her life devoted to social work. She was preceded in death by her parents, Al Shahayda and Readus Helen Embry Shahayda; and two brothers, Albert Michael "Mike" and Paul Shahayda. She is survived by three brothers, Vincent Shahayda (Colleen) of Virginia Beach, VA, James Shahayda of Naples Italy, and Leon Shahayda (Debbie) of Shepherdsville, KY; three nieces; three nephews; and one great-nephew. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. In accordance with Diana's wishes, cremation was chosen. The family would request that expressions of sympathy be sent to The American Cancer Society.

My condolence to the family. Diana was a friend of mine and I have a really great photo of her smile the last time we had dinner together. She was a mentor as well. The most one of a kind lady ever met and one of the most honest. I should have signed sooner.
