Lloyd Parson Obituary

PARSON, LLOYD PARKS, 74, of Paulding, OH, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Masonic Home of Louisville.

For 35 years he was the owner/operator of Parson's IGA. Lloyd was a member of the Paulding Chamber of Commerce, a very active member of Kiwanis Club, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as Grandmaster of the Order of Masons, Flatrock Lodge #580.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Lloyd was a role model for men: a promoter of good choices, fairness, and kindness. He loved his family, fishing and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Parson Sr. and Allie Parson.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Parson; daughter, Lisa Stevenson (Britt); son, Tim Parson (Heather); grandchildren, Anessa Martin (Duane) and Mekayla, Bailey and Ryan Parson; great-grandchild, Olivia Martin; sister, Joanne Webber; and brother, William Parson.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Sam Swope Care Center, Masonic Home of Louisville in the New Chapel, 3701 Frankfort Ave. A memorial service will be held in Paulding at a later date. Arrangements: Ratterman Funeral Home, Lexington Road In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for cancer research. This charity was close to Lloyd's heart.

Edna, Tim, & Lisa,
My sympathy goes out to your entire family. Us Clark kids spent much of our childhood at the Parson house & were frequent guest of yours at the cottage in Coldwater growing up leading to many fond memories. Lloyd was a big part of our extended family and he will forever be remembered as a great man & role model. My thoughts & prayers are with all of you during this time.
