Janet Elaine Dorer

Janet Elaine Dorer Holt Born February 27, 1933 in Lansing, Michigan daughter of the late Harold and Elma (Hart) Ginter passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at the age of 77. Janet was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holt where over the years she served as Elder, Deacon, Youth Group Leader and volunteer where needed. She alongside her husband Jack owned and operated Dorer Oil Company for many years. Janet was a past Governor of Altrusa International and volunteered for many years with the American Cancer Society. Surviving are her "adopted children", Debra Bachman and Jim Doerr and her dog Molly whom was her best friend. Special thanks to Duane Studley, Lynn Beard, Jan Babcock, and Grand Haven Living Center for their companionship, care, and guiding hands during her illness. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Jack A. Dorer; two sisters, Betty Botsford and Maxine Jackway; and three brothers, Berlin, Roger, and Harold Ginter. Funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Holt, 2021 N. Aurelius Rd. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kirk R. Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Holt or the American Cancer Society.
