John Marshall Burgess Age 67 of Bloomfield Hills and Harbor Springs, MI, passed away Monday April 12, 2010 at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital. He was born November 9, 1942 in Lansing, MI, son of the late F. Marshall and Mary Alice (Jennings) Burgess. John graduated from East Lansing High School in 1960 and received a degree from Michigan State University in 1964. John was grateful for the parishioners and priests at Holy Childhood of Jesus, Harbor Springs, St. Thomas More, Troy, St. Augustine and St. Monica Parish, Detroit. Beloved husband of Debra. Loved brother of Lynn LaChase (Dennis). Dear father of Gregory (Karen), Laurie Kocour (Mark), Julie Holbrook (Harold), Cecilia and Jon Michael; step daughters Arielle and Jacklyn Williams. Loving grandfather of Zachary, Emily, and Ryan Burgess, Haley and Kaitlin Holbrook, Peter and Christopher Kocour, and Kingsley Williams. Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers, & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile) Tuesday 2-9p.m. Rosary 7p.m. Funeral Mass Wednesday 10:30a.m. at St. Augustine and St. Monica Church, 4151 Seminole St., Detroit.
