Vern was such a good and dear friend of both of us and especially of Pats. Vern will be fondly remembered. Pat talked about going to the races and hunting with him and at the cottage at Coldwater Lake.

Vern was my friend and mentor. He knew the General Property Tax Law from beginning to end and passed that skill on to me, for which I am forever grateful. I'll miss our talks about the tax law changes and our families. He was a good man. I did not hear him utter a bad word against anyone the entire time I worked with him. I always thought that to be quite an accomplishment.

Ray and Eddy, I'am so sorry for loss of Vern. He was a good friend to many but, most of all you two were his greatest friends. He talked about many good times with you and all the help you were to him..God bless you for being there for him.. Lucy Haughton
