Linda had been like a family member to me. My mom had worked for her at parent meetings and I and my siblings always went with my mom to play with the kids she babysat for Linda's parent mygs. Now I've retired from the district but I know I wouldn't have been able to do that without Linda's guidance and support. She is still missed and remembered.

I think of her often and now that I've retired from the district, i owe my gratitude to her for encouraging me at the young age of 13 and onward to becoming an employee of the district as well as how well she treated my mom and our family. She was a true friend to us.

Linda was my mother-in-law and I am very blessed to have been her daughter-in-law. She was always there for me, she taught me how to be a better person. I will carry her always in my heart, share Linda stories with everyone and my children will ALWAYS know their Grandma Kent. They will know how she loved them, how much joy they brought to her, how she had to see them so often even though she lived an hour away. McDonald's smoothies and playparks will forever make our hearts happy, even though Grandma isn't able to physically be with us. Mom K, I LOVE YOU, and can't imagine life without you. I will do my best to take care of not only Faith and Jack, but Jeff and Scot also. Together we are family and everything that you taught us will make us even stronger. Your impression on our lives will be with us forever. I miss you so much and can't thank you enough. I Love You!!

I first met Linda when Main Street Childcare was being opened. She worked long and hard to make the center a place where children would grow and parents knew their babies were cared for. Since that time, Linda served as a mentor to me and taught me all she had to offer in the arena of grants and State and Federal programs. Without her guidance, I would not be where I am today. Linda loved the kids and was always trying to find a way to help them and improve their education. Her years served in the Lansing School District and with the state are a tribute to her dedication. Thank you, Linda, for the many long hours, your energy, and zest for life. It was my priviledge to work with you and share your friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I remember Linda way, way back in her early days with Lansing School District. I worked for Research and Evaluation, also State and Federal Programs, and I remember Linda as so young and lovely and so smart and able to do the work that she did. What a shock to see her in today's obituary. While I am saddened to know that she has passed, let us be reminded to hold one another closely and to love the moments we are in. I pray that her family finds comfort during these difficult days.

Dear Kent Family Members: Thanks for sharing your loved one with so many of us in the Lansing School District. Linda made awesome things happen for children and we loved and respected her for her dedication and caring for all people. She was a problem solver for all who went to her in need of assistance. I appreciate the seven years of her outstanding work on behalf of all children in the lansing School District. Love to all of you. Linda was an outstanding and beautiful lady. God bless you and keep you and may his grace sustain you. God knows how much we can take and I know that he has Linda in his care as she cared for his precious children for so very long while here on earth.

Linda was an absolute inspiration to our family. As a child, my mother worked for her through the parenting programs, and later I also worked for her through that same program. Linda kept involved with us through Indian Educatin programs and later through the co-op program where I worked at State and Federal Programs with her and many others. She kept in contact with our family throughout the years and then I, as well as my mom, worked for her at Main Street Child Care Center. She saw my kids grow as little people and I told them what a great lady she was. She truly molded my career with the Lansing School District and my family will truly miss her friendship and beautiful smile and encouragement. Sheila Tedhams, Karen Holmes

Linda was an inspiration to me in many ways. Her personal thoughtfulness on ensuring support to LSD staff assigned tasks to complete for State & Federal Programs was cherished by many. I will never forget the conversation we had during a conference in San Francisco. She simply asked, "Have you ever considered pursuing a career in administration?" That question changed my life and has assisted me in facing and accepting challeneges I never thought I would be able to bear.
Linda you will be missed, but never forgotten.

What a beautiful and courageous woman! I can only hope I could be as brave as she was in any adversity I may face. Linda, you were a role model to ALL who knew you. I will miss you dearly and love you with all my heart. God Bless the family during this difficult time. Diane Dick, MIEM
