Lucy Gruhn Obituary

Lucy (Marciniak) Gruhn East Lansing Lucy (Marciniak) Gruhn, our very special Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and friend went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2010. She was born July 30, 1932 in Middleville, MI. She was full of love, laughter, tears, and the Lord. Her heart was so full of love that many called her Mom or Grandma and it was her heart that finally failed her. She was preceded in death by her son, Tim, and is missed by her children, Cricket (Rick) Lott, Dan (Jean) Gruhn, Cheryl Hiner, and Julie Jackson; her grandchildren, Tom, Dustin, Rachel, David, Moreno, Anastasia, and Sarah; nine great-grandchildren; and by her many brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. Lucy was a longtime member of Holy Cross Church and recently transferred to St. Mary Cathedral. Her occupation was to pray for those in her life and we will miss those prayers. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour Ave., Lansing. Rite of Committal will be at East Lawn Memory Gardens in Okemos. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
