Melvin Kenyon Obituary

Melvin J. Kenyon Charlotte Melvin John Kenyon, age 79, passed away April 22, 2010 in Harver De Grace, MD. He was born February 5, 1931 in Detroit, MI, son to McKinley and Viola (Moran) Kenyon. Melvin was a retired welder from Anchor Motor Freight and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army and Air Force. He was a life member of the Charlotte F.O.E. #3552, member of the American Legion VFW; enjoyed to tinker and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his three sons: John M. (Marian) of Hanover, MD, Curtis M. (Missy) of Nashville, MI and Corey M. of Charlotte, MI; one daughter, Sherri Kenyon (Craig) of Missoula, MT, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; three brothers: Richard (Nancy), Bob (Kay) and Don (Lois), two sisters, Jane (Norm) Walker and Delores (Clarence) Papp and sister-in-law, Mary Kenyon. He was preceded in death by his brothers Max and Russ. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2010 - 2:00 p.m.. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday 5-9 p.m. For those desiring, contributions may be made to the American Lung Assoc. Mel was always a friend to my husband, Robert. He came and would spend time with him and they would talk "shop" since they both were welders at Anchor. Mel will be missed.
