A fellow shepard

April 10, 2010

I once knew an old shepard, who was more like the billy goat gruff.
He was always so honest, so true and so tuff.
For 90 long years he worked every day, at being a good man, a good friend, and above all a good shepard.
He got up with the birds, and carried his corn and his hay, and was proud of his work at the end of each day.
His sheep he did love, tho he would say thats not true. The day they left I'v never seen him more blue.
He cared for his wife, until she left our green earth, heading for greener pastures to await his return..
Today, he too left for the hills and green pastures, to spend time with the sheep, and to be their master.
A sheep I am sure he will come back to be born.
Instead of carrying he will be eating the corn.

Until that day, he will reside in Heaven, with his wife and his crook and his sheep one thru seven.
A personal assistant to god he will be. A shepard to gods very holiest sheep.
