William Jones Obituary

William T. Jones Harrison, MI and Florida William T. Jones, Age 78, died November 24, 2010. He was born June 16, 1932 in Forest Hill, MI to Duard and Vera (Cline) Jones. He retired from Motor Wheel after 40 years of service. Additionally, he also managed the Mid-MI OJT program for 9 years. Mr. Jones was a representative for International AIW Union and held several positions with Local #182, including president. He was a member and a Golden Eagle of the Lansing Eagles Lodge for over 30 years; also a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion both in Harrison, MI. He loved the out of doors, especially hunting and enjoyed traveling and dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Sue; son-in-law, Thomas Nees; brother, Dick Jones; and sister, Joan Basinger. Surviving are his wife, Elaine; daughter, Kathy Nees; 2 step-children, Eric (Jana) McCabe and Angela (Chris) Johnson; 7 grandchildren, David (Kelee) Nees, Joseph (Leslie) Nees, Zachary Smith, Brandyn McCabe, Brendyn McCabe, Kameron Gaffney and Breeanna Gaffney; one great-grandchild, Jillian Nees; brother, Donald Jones; sister, Cindy (Doug) Hankins; sister-in-law, Sharon (Jim) Ringwald; in-laws, K.C. and Marguerite Smith; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan, Lansing, MI 48912 with the Rev. Herman Green officiating. Burial will be at New Haven Township Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to Hospice of Lansing, 4052 Legacy Parkway, Suite 200, Lansing, MI 48911.
