Ruth Keusch Obituary

Ruth A. Keusch Portland Age 92, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2010. She was born on June 16, 1918 in Portland the daughter of Bernard and Pauline (Lehman) Hoppes. Mrs. Keusch was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Portland VFW Post #4090 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Portland Country Club. She was a past founder of the Fr. Flohe Foundation and enjoyed playing golf, gardening, cooking for people, traveling, but most importantly she loved her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Keusch, Sr. in 1999; grandson, David Keusch in 2005. Surviving are 3 sons, Thomas (Dorothy) Keusch of Portland, Richard (Connie) Keusch of Stanton, Robert (Teri) Keusch of Lansing; 4 daughters, Kay (Roger) Steed of Traverse City, Mary Jo (Dan) Schneider of Portland, Ann (Derek) Strong of DeWitt, and Paula (Gery) Beachnau of Chicago; 34 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Lynch and Marilyn Muirhead; brother, Bernard Hoppes, Jr.; several sisters and brothers-in-law; special friends, Patricia Hoppes and Gert Manning. The family would like to give a special thanks to Judy and Bill Clark, Gina Voorheis, Kelly Grys and the staff at Country Living A.F.C. for their wonderful care. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2010 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Rev. Larry King, presiding. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The rosary will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. Sunday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Fr. Flohe Foundation, in memory of Mrs. Ruth A. Keusch. Online condolences may be made at www.schraubenlehman.com
