Earl Hill Obituary

Earl Lloyd Hill LUBBOCK-Graveside services for Earl Lloyd Hill, 80, of Lubbock, Texas, will be in Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home, officiated by Paul Miller, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Sanders Funeral Home. Earl Lloyd Hill departed this life on Jan. 29, 2014, at the age of 80. He was the son of Raymond and Inice Hill, born in Pettit on Jan. 31, 1933. He married Glenna Fay Wheeless on Dec. 21, 1951. She preceded him in death, along with his parents, his brother, and a grandson. He was drafted in to the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired after 36 years of service with the Lubbock Police Department. He was a lifetime member on the Benevolent and Patriotic Order of Elks, lodge number 1348. He also was member of the Scottish Rite of Free Mansions. He is survived by two sons, David and Joyce Hill, and Greg Hill; three grandsons, David Hill, John and Candace Hill, and Shawn and Katrina Hill; and he was blessed with six great-grandchildren, all of Lubbock. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Texas Elks Children's Services in Ottine, Texas, the Kidney Foundation, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or a favorite charity. There will be a memorial service following the graveside services at the Lubbock Elks Lodge at 34th and Milwaukee.
