Maxine was like another grandmother to me. She introduced me to beautiful things and experiences. She always had the best Halloween parties and she and Dr. Steige allowed me to have slumber parties at their home. I loved her very much and I cannot believe that she has passed. I am sure Dr. Steige is dancing with her again. I love and miss them both very much! They were family to me growing up and I have the best memories of them. I had planned to go to Lubbock in just a couple of weeks and had a gift ready for Maxine. I was looking forward to seeing her as it had been almost a year. She was a beautiful and kind woman. Her memory will always be with me.
