Darcy Anna Reich LUBBOCK-Darcy Anna Reich, Associate Professor of Psychology at Texas Tech University, died on Sept. 12, 2014. Darcy was born on March 1, 1971, to Sally and Dan Reich in Fort Atkinson, WI. She studied in England, graduated from Carroll College, and earned her PhD in Psychology from Ohio State University. She joined the Social Psychology faculty in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech in 2000. Darcy was a meticulous scholar, a superb teacher, and an extraordinary mentor to her doctoral students, and will be missed greatly by her colleagues, friends old and new, and her much-beloved students. Darcy was 43 when her life was taken by colon cancer. Her loved ones wish to thank the gifted professionals at the Southwest Cancer Center, University Medical Center, UMC Supportive Care Unit, Hospice of Lubbock, and Covenant Hospital's Palliative Medicine Unit for their compassionate care of Darcy. Darcy is survived by her parents, Dan and Sally Reich; her sister, Jaime Reich; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her; as well as her much-adored daughter, Zoe Sophia Reich. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at Congregation Shaareth Israel at 4 p.m. Please see the website link at http://csitemple.org/Directions.html for driving directions.
