Harvey Kiser Obituary

Harvey Daniel Kiser SMYER-Funeral services for Harvey Daniel Kiser, 83, formerly of Smyer, Texas, will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at 10 a.m. in the George Price Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland, Texas. Burial will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at the home of his daughter, Kathy Davis, of Lubbock, 806-781-4823. Harvey passed away May 22, 2015. He was born Sep. 12, 1931, in Levelland, Texas, to Cicero and Nellie Kiser. He married Neva Marie Dyson Dec. 13, 1951. Harvey served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954. He retired from Civil Service at Reese Air Force Base as head of the Entomology Department. He was a volunteer at the Smyer Senior Citizens Center and a member of the Smyer Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by Marie, his wife of 56 years; brothers, Alton, C.W. and Kenneth Kiser; and sisters, Gracie McMasters and Geneva Cooper. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Cindy Massingill of Dallas, Kathy Davis of Lubbock, and Vivian (Jess) Abney of Lubbock; son, Danny (Piper) Kiser of Plano; brother, Charlie Kiser of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Nicole Dempsey of Lubbock, Michelle Davis of Dallas, Laurie Adkins of Denton, and Nolan and Daniel Kiser of Plano; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Claire and Dexter Duncan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Harvey and I were "the inseparables" of the Class of 1948 of Whitharral High School. We were many miles apart for many years but the memories were always strong and the brief reunions were so wonderful. My best to the family.
