Jean Nettles Obituary

Jean Nettles LUBBOCK-Jean Nettles of Lubbock departed this life on Aug. 9, 2016, at the age of 90. She was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Idalou, Texas, to Aubrey and Edna Bass. She graduated from Frenship High School and Draughn's Business College. Jean married J. Edwin Skeeter Nettles Jan. 4, 1948 in Lubbock. He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 2011. She taught Sunday School class for many years and was involved in Literacy for many years where she taught many people to speak and write English. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Meadow. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rodney Nettles and wife Belinda of Lubbock, Lera Lewis and husband Jeff of Abilene and Robyn Lamb of Lubbock; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Ross of Lubbock. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ken McClung officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Sanders Funeral Home.
