>Michael Rodgers SLATON-Michael Charles Rodgers,Kojak, 56 of Slaton, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2016. He was born May 2, 1960, to Fred and Shirley Rodgers in Slaton, Texas. He grew up in Slaton and attended Slaton ISD. Later he went to the Job Corps. Michael worked for the Wilson General Coop. Michael loved the Dallas Cowboys and he loved lifting weights and hanging out with his cousins especially his cousin, Ricky Trotty. Michael is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Andrew and Ella Trotty, Sonnie and Hallie Rodgers; one daughter, Alicia Rodgers; and one brother, Fred Rodgers. Michael leaves to cherish his wife, Rosetta Rodgers; one daughter, Alexis Rodgers; two sons, Tony Rodgers and Michael Rodgers, Jr.; four stepsons, Charlie Bell, Larry Bell, Reggie, and Gregory; four sisters, Bennie Devroe (Charles), Bessie Rodgers, Demerise Nixon, and Shirley Rodgers; one stepsister, Freda Uboldi; one brother, Donnie Ray Trotty; one stepbrother, Sean Brown; seven grandchildren; a special friend, Shirlene Crayton; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Slaton, Texas. Interment will follow in the Engelwood Cemetery Slaton under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
