Denita DaShay Hadnot

Funeral services for Ms. Denita DaShay Hadnot, 35, of Lufkin, will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the First Missionary Baptist Church, 410 Scarbrough in Lufkin. Pastor W.R, Ricks will officiate and burial will follow in Davis Memorial Gardens in the Cedar Grove Community. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the church sanctuary. It will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time. Ms. Hadnot was born June 18, 1974 in Lufkin to Rosiland (Hadnot) Murphy Jones, who preceded her in death. She attended Garrett Elementary and Brandon Elementary and graduated from Lufkin High in 1992. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory: grandmother, Odessa Hadnot of Lufkin; sisters, Kizzy Murphy and April Murphy of Lufkin; stepfather, Jimmie Murphy of Diboll; aunts and uncles, Delphina (Hadnot) Maxie (Tommy), Jackie Joe Hadnot (Rose), Buford Joe Hadnot and LaNell Carter Hadnot, all of Lufkin; Joe Lee Hadnot Jr. (Leecha) of Humble; Joe Nathan Hadnot of Bastrop; nieces, Corinthia Skinner, Odessia Tutt and Denitra Watkins of Lufkin; special cousins, Sonya Shankle, James Holman, Leeland Holman, Corey Hadnot, all of Lufkin; best friend, Andrea Davis of Lufkin; godsons, Tyreek Davis and Taurus Davis Jr. of Houston; special friends, Carolyn Johnson, Rosemary Scott, Sylvia Goff, all of Lufkin; Jackie Shephard, Taurus Davis Sr. and Triese Davis of Houston; and a host of great uncles and aunts, other relatives and friends. Ms. Hadnot was preceded in death by her mother; grandfather, Joe Lee Hadnot Sr.; and two uncles, Robert Joe Hadnot and Paul Anthony Hadnot.
