Graveside services for William Lloyd Minshew, 65, of Lufkin, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Fairview Cemetery, with Bro. Gary Forrest officiating. Mr. Minshew was born October 6, 1951 in Tyler, Texas, the son of the late Ida (Edge) and William Roland Minshew. He passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Minshew was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He worked in the building/restaurant business and was the owner of Thompson's Café. Mr. Minshew enjoyed trying to play golf. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Rachelle L. Durret; son, Ragan Minshew; granddaughters, Brandi Tristan, Rylee Durrett, and Jaylin Travis; grandson, Cane Tristan; stepson, Jason Cook; stepdaughter, Shannon Elizabeth Dohrman; step-grandsons, Justin Cook, Jarod Cook, and Dustin Burkhart; step-granddaughter, Genieieve Dohrman; sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Robert Norwood; brother, Tommy Minshew; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members. In addition to his parents, Mr. Minshew was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Ann Minshew; and sisters, Elizabeth "Beth" Hodges and Anna Faye Barbee. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.gipsonfuneralhome.com. Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
