Charles Buck Obituary

CHARLES BUCK April 30, 1930 - Jan. 14, 2011 Charles Allen Buck, beloved husband, father, grandfather, Korean War veteran, passed away due to Alzheimer's disease, Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, in Gurley, Ala. Charles was born April 30, 1930, in Alamo. He was an adventurous boy, a ranch-hand in his teenage years, an Army soldier 1951-1953, a truck driver for more than 40 years, a 52-year resident of Las Vegas, and a great jokester and storyteller. In 2007, Charles and his wife moved to Huntsville, Ala. He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Joan Follis Buck; and four daughters, Diane Schumacher and husband, Scott, of Huntsville, Tammie Byington and husband, Steve, of Rigby, Idaho, Michelle Sanders and husband, Jeff, of Hermiston, Ore., and Deborah Roebuck of Las Vegas. Charles is also survived by 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, David of Boulder City, Phillip of Caliente, and William of Hermiston, and their families; his sister, Lois Stringham of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clark; parents, Dan and Lucille, of Caliente; and son-in-law, William R. Roebuck of Gadsden, Ala. Funeral services and internment will take place at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

Sorry to hear about Chuck. He was a good neighbor and patient man to my son, Michael Jenkins. I know his daughters were very important to him.
