Jean Fleming Obituary
Albany, GA- Jean Floyd Fleming of Albany, Georgia died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Willson Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Oakview Cemetery, Camilla, Georgia. Visitation will be immediately following the service.
Jean was born December 19, 1926 in Macon, Georgia. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Scholey Cowart and a twin brother, Jimmy Cowart, of Macon, Georgia. Jean graduated from Miller High School in Macon, Georgia in 1944, and Wesleyan College in 1948. Jean married Elmore McNair Floyd in 1948 and resided in Camilla for 36 years. She taught at Ravenwood Academy, Meigs, Georgia (1970-1972), and Westwood Schools, Camilla, Georgia (1972-1984). Elmore Floyd died in 1974 and in 1984, she married William S. Fleming and moved to Albany, Georgia.
She is survived by her husband, William S. Fleming of Albany, Georgia, and her three children: George C. Floyd (Carole) of Bainbridge, Georgia; Schuyler H. Floyd (Rhonda) of Nashville, Tennessee; and Jeanie Floyd Lee (Charles) of Sandersville, Georgia; four grandchildren, Jimbo Floyd (Jenny) of Gainesville, Georgia, Elizabeth Floyd Hunt (Taylor) of Dallas, Texas, Miles Lee of Atlanta, Georgia, and Schuyler G. Floyd of Dallas, Texas; five great grandchildren: George Hunt, Hailey Hunt, Wilson Hunt, James Floyd, and Henry Floyd.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Willson Hospice House, 320
Foundation Lane, Albany, GA 31707 or your favorite charity.
Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
