Macon, GA- Colonel (Ret) Robert Marcus Prevette, 64, passed away on July 8, 2016. A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Noon in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Fuller officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date with Full Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EAMC Fisher House - Fort Gordon, Building 280 Fisher House Road, Fort Gordon, GA 30905.
Mark was born in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina to the late Henry Robert Prevette and Reba Cleary Prevette. He was a highly decorated officer serving his country in the United States Army for thirty-four years, retiring with the rank of Colonel. Mark survived the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon, remaining at the scene until all his soldiers were accounted for after the attack. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by wife of forty four years, Kathleen "Kathy" Prevette of Macon, mother, Reba Cleary Prevette of Macon, sons, Marcus (Julie) Prevette of Macon, Christopher (Blossom) Prevette of Colorado Springs, CO, Jason (Leticia) Prevette of Lawton, OK, twelve loving grandchildren, two brothers, Michael (Tamie) Prevette of Flint, MI, Scott (Kathy) Prevette of Gastonia, NC and several nieces and nephews.
