Deborah Truman Obituary

CHELSEA -- Deborah Jean Truman, 54, of Chelsea passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 1, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born in Waterville on June 2, 1956, the third child of five children of Westley and Rosie (Witham) Furbush.

She graduated from Messalonskee High School, class of 1974. Debbie had been employed by the State of Maine Department of Motor Vehicles, Income Tax, and Fire Marshall's Office before retiring due to illness.

She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and riding for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

She was predeceased by her father, Westley Furbush; and her mother-in-law, Donna Truman.

Debbie is survived by her beloved husband, Steven Truman, of Chelsea; her mother, Rosie Wood, and her stepdad, Don, of Oakland; her stepmother, Beverly Furbush, of Rome; her children, Shane Edgecomb and his companion, Jennifer, of Williamston, N.C., Sonja Edgecomb of Augusta, Chad Truman and his wife, Denise, of Windsor, and Shannon Rasmussen and her husband, Chris, of Pittston; her two brothers, Archie Furbush, and his wife, Sandra, of Oakland, and Westley Furbush Jr. and his a wife, Susan, of Smithfield; two sisters, Sherry Furbush, and her companion, Mickey, of Waterville, and Susan Gomez and her husband, Duane, of Rome; eight grandchildren, Mary Edgecomb, Brady Farnham, Cole Edgecomb, Ian Wyman, Steven Truman, Devon Emery, Arianna Truman and Alexis Truman; several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at the family lot in Maine Avenue Cemetery in Farmingdale.

Arrangements are under the acre of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.

Thank you to all of those that have left messages on here. Aunt Debbie was a beautiful person inside and out and she will never be forgotten! God must need her for something really important to take her so young from her family and friends. I love you Aunt Debbie. You took a piece of my heart when you left! Till we meet again! Steve and family, I have known Debbie for a long time, I may not have visited often, but she was always in my thoughts and not far from the heart. Deb was a wonderful person and was loved by many as she loved many especially you Steve I know you saved her life once and she was ever so grateful.
