She was born in Biddeford on July 11, 1929, the daughter of Franklin and Margaret (Harford) Milliken. Janice was a graduate of Cony High School, class of 1947. She went on to attain her bachelor's degree from Wheaton College in 1951 and later her master's degree from Worcester State in education, in 1960. She also attended Clark University in Worcester.
Janice married John Andrews Oct. 13, 1951, in Saco. They lived in Princeton, Mass., for 33 years while she was teaching at Tahanto Regional High School and, later, working for National Evaluation Services in Amherst. She retired in 1988 when she and John moved to Maine.
They lived in North Yarmouth for several years before moving to Augusta.
She loved to sing and was active in several church choirs through the years.
Mrs. Andrews was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Lt. Col. Gordon Jameson Milliken.
She is survived by her husband, John Andrews Jr.
A funeral service will be held at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church Street, Augusta, at 11 a.m. Thursday. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at the new Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
John would like to thank the caregivers at the Woodlands and Glenridge for the wonderful way they tended to Janice.
