Donald Martel Obituary

WATERVILLE -- Donald Joseph Alfred Martel, 75, of Sidney, died Friday, April 22, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville, after a long illness. He was born in Greenville Junction, the son of Joseph and Blancha Martel on July 6, 1935.

Donald served in the Army during the Korean War in the military police. He later worked for Scott Paper Co. as a tree cutter, retiring in 1985. Donald enjoyed fishing, doing crafts and building small furniture.

Surviving are his wife, Marielaina "Marie" (Harvey) Martel; three sons and one daughter; two step-children, Kimberly Clough, of Florida and Bobbi-Jo Clough, of Oakland; two sisters, Amy Nelson, of Waterville, and Pierette Martel, of Waterville; many grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, Augusta.

Arrangements are under the direction of Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville.

i want everyone in the family to know that i am there for them and am praying that everyone know that! i am also thinking of them in there time of need...
i did'nt know don all that well... but i do know that he loved his family and was very excited every time he saw anyone. my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in their time of need.
