Albert was born Feb. 17, 1929, in Nashua, N.H., to Albert and Velma (Taylor) Mayou. He was raised in Pepperell, Mass., graduating from Pepperell High School with the class of 1947. He graduated from Burdett Business College in 1949 and enlisted in the Army in 1951. Albert served in the Army for three years, including a tour of duty in Korea.
In March of 1952, he married Leta Garland.
He worked for 33 years at Bemis Co. Inc. in Pepperell, retiring to Maine in 1987. He and his wife Leta lived in Bingham for one year before settling at Cold Stream Pond in Lowell.
He is survived by his wife, Leta (Garland) Mayou, of Lowell; three daughters, Terry Mayou of Mercer, Lynn Eastman and her husband, Rick, of Bowdoin, and Bonnie Pomeroy and her husband, Alan, of Wilton; six grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Giberson Funeral Home, 18 River St., in Bingham. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Tanner officiating. Interment will occur in Robinson Memorial Cemetery in Moscow.
