Roland Belanger Obituary
He was born July 11, 1952, in Biddeford, the son of Wilfred and Gertrude (Bossie) Belanger.
He grew up in Bingham, attended Valley High School and joined the Army at the age of 17. He served in Vietnam from August 1970 to March 1972, and was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Subsequent tours of duty took him to Germany, Louisiana, Maine, South Korea and Florida. In 1992, he retired from the Army after 23 years of service. He was employed as a business consultant for the National Federation of Independent Business and also as a manager for Paul West Ford in Gainesville, Fla.
His love for the outdoors and helping family and friends was evident in everything that he did. He also enjoyed leather work, fishing, archery, music, photography, helping other veterans and spending time with his dogs.
Roland was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Viola Belanger.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ann; a son, Todd, and his wife, Gretchen; his daughters, Tausha, and her husband, Geno, Cheri and Christi; two sisters, Jacqueline and Patricia; four grandsons; three granddaughters; many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Giberson Funeral Home, 18 River St., in Bingham. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, May 19, at Christ The King, St. Peters Church on Owens Street in Bingham with Father John Mazzei officiating. Interment will occur in Robinson Memorial Cemetery in Moscow.

My deepest sympathy to Roland's family. I was a classmate and friend. When he was in Vietnam, he called me to talk several times and said he would be home and take me for a motorcycle ride...and he did just that. We had lots of fun. He was a great guy. Years later my husband met him ice fishing. I am deeply saddened to see he has passed at such a young age. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
