He was born on Aug. 7, 1946, in Waterville, son of Doris and Leodore LaPierre. He went to Waterville schools and earned his business degrees at the University of Maine at Augusta and Thomas College. He was employed at Depositors Trust Co., CF Hathaway Shirt Co., Brown and Rockport Shoe companies, Digital Equipment Co., and eventually owned a business in Portland for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother, Ronald LaPierre. He is survived by his children, son Matthew and wife Anne of Gorham, and daughter Michelle LaPierre and partner AJ of Durham; five granddaughters, Kelley, Sarah, Sadie, Madeleine and Kathryn; special friend Rosalie LaPierre of South Portland; three sisters and their husbands, Doreen and John Crain of Las Vegas, Nev., Gloria and Carl Blanchet of Fairfield, and Theresa and Pat Reny of Vassalboro; one brother, Frank LaPierre of Massachusetts; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew.
At his request, there will be no visitation or memorial service.

To Gloria and family,
My deepest sympathy goes out to you and all of Louis family. I had not seen him since we graduated from high school together but he was always one of the nice classmates that was nice to everyone. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this time of sadnes.
